Flat Rock Playhouse announced this morning that long-time company member Scott Treadway will return to the Playhouse as a resident actor for the 2012 60th Anniversary Season. At present, Treadway will appear in the following four shows: Our Show of ShowsFox on the FairwayNoises Off and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.

"I find it quite perfect, especially with this being the 60th anniversary, to have Scott back home at the Playhouse performing with us," said Producing Artistic Director, Vincent Marini.  "When I arrived here, three years ago, it quickly became apparent to me that Scott had a very special relationship with the patrons of the Playhouse. When Scott's knowledge and talent offered him opportunities away from the Playhouse in 2011, I was not surprised, and I know everyone here supported his decision to take advantage of those chances. Needless to say we are all thrilled that Scott is able to return to the Playhouse stage for this historic 60th season.  This year will feature a slew of Playhouse alumni from the past sixty, so it is fitting that Scott will be able to join them in these four special productions."

For 27 years, Treadway was a fixture with the Playhouse.  He is best remembered for his roles in Gilligan’s Island, the MusicalLook Homeward, Angel; the Tuna shows; Anything GoesArtThe 39 Steps and The Drowsy Chaperone.  In addition to acting and directing, Treadway served the Playhouse as Development Director and Associate Artistic Director and was well known in the community for his relationship with educators and students.

The Playhouse is crafting a long-term arrangement, which will offer Treadway the ability to have an annual presence at the Playhouse, if he so chooses, while simultaneously giving him the flexibility to pursue other opportunities as they arise.  “The Playhouse staff and board feel like this is a win-win for both parties.  Scott is one of the best comedic actors I've ever had the pleasure of working with and I can't wait to see what he will bring to our first comedy of the season Our Show of Shows," concluded Marini.

Treadway has already established a relationship with Mill Mountain Theatre in Roanoke, Va., where he will perform in Greater Tuna at the end of March.

The Playhouse Box Office will open to the public on Jan. 23, one week earlier than scheduled.  The cost-effective season ticket packages will be available and individual tickets to all shows and concerts will go on sale.   The box office will open for telephone, walk-in and online sales.  In addition to the four shows with Scott Treadway, Playhouse patrons can purchase tickets to the sentimental shows and concerts scheduled for the start of the season:  The Swinging Hits of Frank SinatraThe Boxcar ChildrenSweet Dreams: The Music of Patsy ClineMy Favorite Things:  The Music of Rodgers and Hammerstein and Say Goodnight Gracie.
