Park Ridge Hosts Blood Drive Aug. 13
Park Ridge Health will host a blood drive August 13 on mobile units in front of the hospital.
Someone needs a blood transfusion every three seconds and one in 10 patients entering a hospital will require donated blood. On average, a car accident requires 50 units of blood to treat victims, and an organ transplant requires 40 units of blood. Since donated blood is usable for only 42 days, donors are needed every day to ensure a stable supply.
Park Ridge Health will host a blood drive on Monday, August 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on mobile units in front of the hospital.
Anyone in good health is invited to give blood as long as they are at least 17, weigh at least 110 pounds and haven’t donated blood for 56 days.
Appointments are encouraged and can be made be calling 855-774-5433.
