Pardee Hospital is now the first and only North Carolina hospital to be accredited with this international quality standard for care by the International Organization for Standardization.

International Organization for Standardization (ISO) accreditation is a rigorous process in which a hospital improves and monitors the delivery of patient care, measures quality, and places the highest priority on eliminating errors.

ISO standards are used internationally in different fields including agriculture, construction, manufacturing, aerospace, medical devices and healthcare.

“Pardee is extremely proud to receive ISO accreditation. Our mission is to provide quality and compassionate and safe services to improve the health of the people in the communities that we serve, and this accreditation validates our efforts,” said Beth Long, Director of Quality Services at Pardee Hospital.

ISO standards are globally known and are considered the “gold” standard for all industries. The standards help Pardee to provide consistent patient care, ensuring that operational processes lead to both expected and improved patient outcomes.

“From a business perspective, the ISO certification is important because a third party entity verifies that an organization has quality management standards that meet and exceed what would be expected in an organization,” said Andrew Tate, CEO of Henderson County Partnership for Economic Development.

More than 32,000 organizations in the United States are ISO 9001:2008 certified. Currently, only 40 hospitals are certified in the United States.  For more information about the ISO 9001:2008 accreditation please visit iso.org.
