Committee to Discuss Berkeley Mills Park
Over the next few months the City of Hendersonville will be working with Barrett Armstrong to develop a master plan for Berkeley Mills Park. Barrett Armstrong is a landscape architect student at Clemson University’s School of Planning, Development, Preservation and Landscape Architecture. Berkeley Mills Park is located on Balfour Road just north of the Kimberly-Clark Corporation’s Berkeley Mills plant.
Hendersonville City Council has appointed a five member steering committee to oversee the development of the master plan. The master plan is to include a review of the existing facilities located at the park, recommended upgrades and new park facilities along with site plans and landscape renderings showing how the park will look.
The steering committee will hold their first meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 1,, at 5:30pm. The meeting will be at the City Operations Center located at 305 Williams Street. The public is welcome to attend. Comments on the future of Berkeley Mills Park can also be directed to the City of Hendersonville’s Planning Department.
