WHAT HAPPENED? Thursday night Hendersonville City Council unanimously approved the Henderson County Chamber of Commerce's $30,000 request for $10,000 each year for the next three fiscal years. 

WHY DO YOU CARE? We're still in a recession and times are tough for everyone. The Chamber is seeking an additional $200,000 to pay for its building on Kanuga Road and asked the city for some money to continue their business networking efforts in the region.

HOW DID IT GO DOWN? Chamber board chair-elect Chuck Edwards made the plea to council members, stating that the organizations relocation to Kanuga Road three years ago happened at the same time the county and the country...

2012 Music on Main Schedule Announced

Audiences will once again be treated to one of Hendersonville’s favorite summertime events at the 14th Annual Music On Main Street concert series.

Music On Main Street is held every Friday evening from June 8 through August 17 at the Visitors Information Center, located at 201 South Main Street in downtown Hendersonville with family-oriented events showcasing a diverse lineup of regional musical talents from pop, oldies, rock, to contemporary music.

Bring a chair and enjoy an evening of live music from 7-9 p.m. with seating beginning after 5:30 p.m. In case of inclement weather the concert will be postponed until 8 p.m.; if the weather does not improve by 8 p.m. the performance will be cancelled.
