Small Plate Crawl to Delight Diners April 5-6

WHAT HAPPENED? City Council approved free downtown parking for April event involving 20 local restaurants in Hendersonville and Flat Rock serving food at $2-$8 a plate.
WHO DID IT? Organizer Laura Huff asked for free parking in city lots Tuesday, April 5 and Wednesday, April 6 at participating restaurants during the hours of 11:30 a.m- 9 p.m., 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
WHY DO YOU CARE? Cheap eats, trolley rides, free downtown parking and prize giveaways are all part of the plan at the bi-annual event.
HOW DID IT GO DOWN? The Carolina Epicurean organized the first bi-annual Small Plate Crawl in November 2009 and this year more than 20 restaurants will offer some of their chefs’ best cuisine at a reduced price.
In addition to the food, more than 40 downtown businesses are also offering specials during the event, ranging from a free glass of wine while you have your jewelry cleaned or inspected, to a free mini-cupcake at participating locations.
Trolley rides from Asheville as well as through Hendersonville and Flat Rock will be offered on April 5th only to allow even more people to participate.
