Mills River Church Going to the Dogs (And Cats) This Weekend
Mills River Presbyterian Church is inviting people to bring their furry critters to the church's front lawn this Saturday for the second annual Blessing of the Pets. The half-hour service gets underway at 10 am and will include messages, prayers and blessings for people and their beloved pets. There will also be tributes to pets lost during the past year, adopted animals and rescued ones. A love offering will also be collected to benefit Henderson County Animal Services.
The event will be casual, so bring blankets and chairs. Dogs should be on leashes and cats in crates. The church is located at 10 Presbyterian Church Road and is accessible from Haywood Road or Highway 280.
