Jose's Scootin' About Town
Jose Case is covering more ground with a scooter that the community provided.

Hendersonville's favorite ad man is getting around town a lot easier now.
Jose Case, the man often seen waving and dancing while promoting local businesses, is the proud owner of a new scooter that was purchased thanks to a fundraising campaign and a musical benefit held at Black Bear Coffee. The fundraising effort was led by Lorrie Fernandez at the Arcade on Main who wanted to give Case a more reliable mode of transportation. The effort generated the $1,200 needed to purchase the scooter plus a little extra for gas money.
Case, affectionately known as the Mattress Man, had been riding his bicycle 12 miles one way daily from his home in Edneyville to Hendersonville. The scooter helps Case cover that ground a bit quicker and hopefully more safely.
On Wednesday, Case was sitting outside Black Bear Coffee on a fairly warm afternoon wearing a Santa hat and indulging his love of creating art. Case said he appreciates the community's support and thanks everyone for helping him get his new set of wheels.
