Halloween is right around the corner, and Henderson County is serving up plenty of ghoulish fun.
The big event for all ages is Saturday’s Trick or Treat Street happening all along Main Street and sponsored by Downtown Hendersonville Inc. Everyone is invited to bring the little ones downtown in their favorite costume. And for you adults, throw on that Harry Potter costume that’s hanging in your closet. Main Street business owners will be dressed up and handing out candy. The event kicks off at 4:30pm with a costume parade and contest. Check out photos from last year.
“We’ll have Sid the Surf as our entertainer down at the gazebo. He’ll be emceeing the costume contest we do,” said DHI Executive Director Randy Jones. “We have five different categories, and one is a family category. From 4:30 to 7:30, and lot of our merchants will be giving out candy and be in costume. We’ll just have a good old trick or treat time.” Prizes for the costume contest will be in the form of gift certificates to kid-friendly places in downtown Hendersonville. “We’re looking at everything from Hands On! to the toy store to Kilwin’s,” Jones said of the prizes.
