Fee Free Weekend at the Sandburg Home
While the experts sit around trying to figure out how to jump start the stalled economy, you and the family can get out and do something this weekend, and the best part is it won't cost you a dime.
The National Park Service is waiving entrance fees at all of its parks, including the Carl Sandburg Home, on Aug.14-15. The Sandburg Home will waive the tour fee to see Carl Sandburg's Connemara home in Flat Rock. There is never a charge to enter the grounds and hike more than five miles of trails and visit the dairy goats. There will also be free ranger programs and performances over the weekend.
