Downtown Hendersonville's 12 Days of Christmas holiday promotion has several events planned on the four weekends prior to Christmas. As part of 12 Days of Christmas, every Sunday afternoon is reserved to shine a spotlight on the work of local nonprofits.
Nonprofit Sundays kicked off this weekend with Toys for Tots, a program run by the U.S. Marine Corps that distributes new toys to needy children at Christmas. Marines in full dress uniform were posted at the Historic Henderson County Courthouse to collect toys and monetary donations to help the cause. Another Marine in uniform was also stationed next to the downtown gazebo. For more information on Toys for Tots, visit www.toysfortots.org .
Other Nonprofit Sundays will feature the Hendersonville Shriners on December 5, Four Seasons Compassion for Life on December 12, and Mainstay Domestic Violence Shelter on December 19. The Nonprofit Sundays are from 1 to 3 pm at the Historic Henderson County Courthouse.
