Celebrate the Holidays in Jackson Park
Families came together at Holidays in the Park on Friday to enjoy crafts, Christmas treats, a hayride, and visits with Santa and Mrs. Claus.

The weather was downright cold in Jackson Park early Friday evening, but a few dozen people came out to celebrate Holidays in the Park.
Offered by Henderson County Parks and Recreation, this event will also be held Saturday, December 18, from 5:30 to 7:30pm at Shelter No. 1. To ward off the evening chill, Parks and Rec staff had a roaring fire going in the shelter fireplace and had plenty of marshmallows for people to roast over the flames. The event also includes a hayride to view the park's light displays, visits with Santa and Mrs. Claus, live music, a kids craft area and holiday treats, including lots of hot chocolate, popcorn, and cookies.
People are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy to donate to Toys for Tots.
Best of all, the event is free and open to everyone.
