What makes the black Bear Coffee Co. Espresso Bar & Cafe the place you're most likely to bump into a stranger from your home town or a neighbor or friend you haven't seen for a while? It's the outstanding specialty coffee drinks, excellent espressos, lattes, cappuccinos and downright delicious brewed coffees that draw in locals and tourists alike. Add to that a “homey" atmosphere, friendly and knowledgeable baristas, delicious paninis and sandwiches, savory pastries and other mouthwatering beverages and treats, and you'll understand why this first-rate coffeehouse is the longtime favorite meeting place for Hendersonville's avant-garde artists, writers, musicians, hip business types and plain ol' regular folk. Its' central location on the power block of Historic Downtown Hendersonville makes it the perfect place to start and finish your Hendersonville area adventure, as well as take a break from it. Enjoy the fan-cooled outdoor patio on warm days or the cozy indoor fireplace on chilly ones while you sip organic, fair trade, shade grown hot or iced coffee.
Black Bear has been a downtown staple for 16 years. Owners for the past six years, Bo Rodriguez and Stephanie Eihl are community driven and often hold events during and after hours. They showcase local talent and participate in the Taste of Hendersonville every year sponsored by the Interfaith Assistance Ministry. Look for them on the Hendersonvilleopoly board game, coming out soon.
