The Western North Carolina Knitters and Crocheters for Others (Charity Knitters)
The primary purpose of this group is to provide handmade items for others. Supporting over 30 local charities, the 15 members (men and women) donate beautiful handmade items such as afghans, knitted dolls, lap robes, warm hats for all ages, sweaters for Teddy Bears, dishcloths, scarves, mittens, and baby blankets. Our members enjoy fellowship, idea sharing, pattern swapping, and long-term friendships. Over 3000 items have been donated since this group formed in 2007.
The Fletcher group is a sister group to the older Western NC Knitters and Crocheters for Others which meets monthly in Black Mountain and is led by Betsy Stobbs.
We meet the third Monday evening of each month from 7:00 pm - 9:00pm at Unity Center, 2041 Old Fanning Bridge Road, Fletcher.
