Taste of Hendersonville

Sample fare from some of Hendersonville's best purveyors of food and wine at the upcoming Vintage Carolina, a fundraiser for the Community Foundation of Henderson County. The event is scheduled for March 1 at the Hendersonville Country Club from 6 to 9pm. Admission is $100 per person.

Chocolate Fest for Kids Only at Terra Summer

Terra Summer in Mills River will host a chocolate-making class for kids only (ages 10-14), led by Asheville chocolatier Theresa Green, owner of UliMana Chocolates. Something is Brewing in Hendersonville

Something will be brewing in Hendersonville in 2010: Beer. Appalachian Craft Brewery owner and brewer Andy Cubbin said Thursday he is working to locate his business from Fletcher to Hendersonville early in the new year.

New Destination for Middle Eastern Cuisine

A new destination for middle eastern cuisine is coming to Hendersonville. Pita Express will feature of range of middle eastern fare and will be open for breakfast and lunch. Dinner will be offered 2 nights a week. Owners Lina and Mohamid Abuadas hope to be open by mid-January. When we stopped by they were working on renovating the space formerly occupied by Doughboy's Doughnuts at 1034 C. Greenville Highway. For more information call 696-9818.

See how your secret recipe (beans or no beans?) stacks up against the big girls (and boys) at the 9th annual Fletcher Chili Cook-off on Saturday, January 9th at the Veritas Christian Academy Cafeteria. Set-up will begin at 10:30 am and judging will start promptly at 11:30 pm.
